The 10 theses were shared with the Regional Ministers and the RHN Focal Points prior to the Forum in order to ensure that all regions would be able to contribute.  The regions of RHN participating in the Forum have prepared contributions for these discussions including the submission of amendments. Regional statements will also be presented.

14.30 – 15.00 Regional statements and contributions to the discussion from the Annual Conference

Regional statements and discussion resulting from the Annual Conference will be presented.  The purpose of this discussion is not to make any amendments to the wording of the 10 theses.  However, the session may result in the production of a complementary handout with statements and discussion results.

Hon. Mary Collins, Former Acting Head of WHO Russian Office and Minister of Health in Canada (moderation)

The 10 theses are discussed on the basis of their impact on regional work and relevance to policy strategies.  The discussion is open in all aspects – formulation of next steps, general exchange of experience, organizational, technical, other practical aspects of regional “Health and Wealth” etc. The results of this session will not lead to modification of the theses document.

15.30 – 16.00 Adoption and formal signing ceremony of the finalized document

The 10 theses were prepared in advance in a final document (taking into consideration the results of the Annual Conference on the 26 November) and other last minute changes.  This document will be adopted as the RHN Ministerial consensus position on regional “Health and Wealth”, designed for presentation at the 2008 WHO/EURO Ministerial Conference on “Health Systems, Health and Wealth”.
